Musicema Celebration Presents Golden Awards

The fourth edition of the annual Musicema Celebration awarded the winners on December 16. Held at Molavi Hall in Tehran, the event presented golden awards to the singers and musicians whose works were released in the last calendar year (ended in March) in two sections -- the jury’s review and the audience choice.  According to the website of the event organizer Musicema.com, the jury’s award for the best genuine traditional vocal album was presented to ‘The Way of Love’ by singer Mohammadreza Shajarian. The album titled ‘Don’t Cry From Loneliness’ from singer Salar Aqili and composer Abolfazl Sadeqinejad was selected as the best genuine traditional vocal album by the audience. Pallett Band’s album ‘Endless Ending’ received the golden award for best fusion music album from the jury, while ‘Subdued’ sung by Homayoun Shajarian and composed by Sohrab Pournazeri was awarded as per the audience choice. Golden award for the jury’s best pop album went to Mohsen Chavoshi’s ‘Harmless Ruler’, while the golden award for the best pop album selected by the audience was given to Ehsan Khajeh-Amiri’s ‘Age of 30’. People selected ‘Clouds Rain’ by Homayoun Shajarian, ‘Love Story’ by Farzad Farzin, and ‘My Love, These Days’ by Mohammad Alizadeh as the best songs in traditional, pop single piece and pop album track, respectively.  The event honored Sohrab Pournazeri as the best contemporary traditional composer.  Late poet and songwriter Afshin Yadollahi was named the best songwriter of the year. The poet died in a road mishap in March.
