Festival of Turkish, Assyrian and Armenian Music

Tehran’s Roudaki Hall plays host to the fourth Ayenehdar Regional and Ritual Music Festival, December 21-23. According to festival’s art director, Ali Maghazei, the event will try to introduce ethnic singers and musicians from different parts of Iran and publicize their music customs, Honaronline reported.   Every year over 100 singers and musicians meet at the venue for solo and group performances. This year’s event focuses on music from the northwestern regions of Iran, namely Ardebil, West Azarbaijan, East Azarbaijan and Zanjan provinces. The artists will be performing traditional pieces from Turkish, Assyrian and Armenian ethnical groups.
