Treatise on Ignorance

At his latest exhibition, painter Saeed Moayyerizadeh, 55, has presented ‘A Treatise on Ignorance.’

A total of 26 acrylic-on-canvas paintings are on display at Sareban Art Gallery, Honaronline reported.

In his paintings, Moayerizadeh has dealt with the concepts of hegemony, domination and repression. He has depicted how consumption patterns are imposed on the masses and how they still are happy with their situation.

“When we watch Iranian paintings or miniatures, it’s often the issues of war or love we would find in them … In most societies, violence is detested, but in some (unfortunately) it seems to be synonymous with might and glory.”

The exhibit will run through February 5 at Sareban Gallery located at No. 130, West Hoveyzeh Street, on the corner of Yousefi Street.
