Cinema City Multiplex in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, is screening five Iranian films.
The program started on February 26 by screening acclaimed filmmaker Majid Majidi’s ‘Muhammad: The Messenger of God’. Set in the sixth century, the story revolves around the childhood of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
‘A Cube of Sugar’ and ‘As Simple As That’ both directed by celebrated director Reza Mirkarimi, ‘Season of Narges’ by Negar Azarbaijani, and ‘Days of Life’ by Parviz Sheikh-Tadi are the other films of the program that ends March 2, IRNA reported.
The story of A Cube of Sugar happens in an old house in the city of Yazd. For the wedding ceremony of their youngest daughter, all the family members come to their old house to help. But a tragic incident turns joy into grief.
As Simple as That depicts the daily routine of a woman struggling in a broken marriage, while Season of Narges has a focus on women who never lose hope in their bid to solve problems affecting their lives by showing a couple who work in a field hospital during the 1980-88 Iran-Iraq war.
The event is organized by Iran’s Islamic Culture and Relations Organization, Embassy of Iran in Sarajevo and Cinema City Multiplex.
