A bilingual book featuring selected works by late painter and sculptor Nima Petgar (1947-2015) will be unveiled Monday at Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art.
Although the museum is partly closed for renovation, Aydin Aghdashlou, renowned painter, author, art critic, art historian and graphic designer, will speak at the unveiling ceremony, Mehr News Agency reported on its Persian website.
Other speakers are Majid Molla-Norouzi, director general of Culture Ministry’s Visual Arts Office; and painter, graphic designer and video artist Behnam Kamrani.
Titled ‘Nima Petgar, Selected Works,’ the 128-page book is in English and Persian. It includes ‘Nights of Long Dialogues,’ a foreword by Molla-Norouzi; and a piece written by art researcher Shahrouz Mohajer who has reviewed Petgar’s life and works. The book covers a total of 74 works created between 1963 and 2015 by the late artist.
The unveiling ceremony is open to the public. The museum is located next to Laleh Park on North Kargar Street.
