‘Alphabet’ Selected for Irish Festival

International Still Voices Short Film Festival has announced the official selection of shorts for its 2018 edition, slated for August 16-19, as per which Iranian short animation “Alphabet” directed by Kianoush Abedi, 38, is to be screened at the inauguration ceremony of the event.  At the festival, based in the Irish town of Longford, 100 films will be competing for four awards, Mehr News Agency reported on its Persian website.  Abedi’s 6-minute 3D animation, produced in 2017, is the story of a people in a state of oblivion and ignorance. It portrays a nation that has forgotten the basic values of life. They cannot see, hear or speak.  The animation has attended many international events including the 5th Speechless Film Festival in the US and 5th Festival Sayulita in Mexico. In both it was among the winners.
