The 21st International Exhibition of Press and News Agencies concluded at Imam Khomeini Grand Mosalla (prayer grounds) in Tehran on Friday.
Senior officials, including advisor to the Leader of the Islamic Revolution Gholamali Haddad-Adel and Deputy Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance for Press and Information Affairs Hossein Entezami, attended the closing ceremony, ISNA reported.
“Media performance is an index for showing the extent of freedom in a society,” said Haddad-Adel stressing that it also is an indication of how much people abide by regulations.
He stressed the need for vigilance in the present situation where “enemies are hatching plots against Muslim nations,” and asked the media to be alert.
This year’s edition which had ‘Fair Criticism, Responsible Answer’ as its slogan, was attended by representatives of more than 700 domestic media in 567 pavilions.
At the end of the annual event, which ran for a week, the best publications in different categories were awarded.
