Works of the Biennial of Illustrations Bratislava (BIB) will be presented at an exhibition in Isfahan on December 14.
The exhibit will showcase 80 works of the BIB winners in the past 25 editions, including the latest edition, Iranian winners of the previous rounds as well as Iranian nominees of the 2015 expo, Mehr News Agency reported.
The BIB is one of the oldest international honors for children’s book illustrators and a prestigious children’s book award along with the Hans Christian Andersen Award. The most beautiful illustrations are printed on Slovakian stamps.
There are 11 awards and a grand prize for unique and outstanding illustration which are presented to the winners every year including a Grand Prix Prize, 5 Golden Apples, 5 plaques and an honorary mention certificate to a winning publisher.
Alireza Goldouzian from Iran is the only Grand Prix winner of the competition (2005) so far. From the beginning, BIB has been held under the auspices of UNESCO and the International Board on Books for Young People (IBBY) and with the support of the Slovakian Ministry of Culture.
The exhibition will be on at Isfahan’s Museum of Contemporary Arts for two days.
Concurrent with the exhibition, a session ‘50 years with Iran in the Biennial of Illustration Bratislava’ will be held where several artists will speak.
