A cultural artistic exhibition of Iranian students opened in Ankara, Turkey, on Monday.
The exhibit is being held at the National Library of Turkey concurrent with Iran’s National Student Day (Dec. 7), Mehr News Agency reported.
At the opening ceremony, Iranian Ambassador Alireza Bigdeli, congratulated Iranian students in Ankara and pointed to the expansion of cultural ties between the two countries.
“Holding a common identity, the two countries need to expand their cultural cooperation if they want to further promote mutual ties,” Bigdeli said.
Head of Turkey’s National Library Zulfi Toman, stressed the need to expand two-way ties in the fields of culture and economy. Such programs can and should help boost bilateral relations, he said.
Iran’s cultural attaché, Hassan Safarkhani, said the role of artists in the current times is crucial. “In a world where violence and terrorism are ruling, artists can contribute to bringing about peace.”
The exhibition is displaying artistic works of six Iranian students in Ankara in the fields of painting, calligraphy and graphics.
Organized by the artistic-cultural association of Iranian students in Turkey, the expo will run through December 11.
