Iran will host an exhibition in the near future displaying artworks by prominent Azeri artists in a bid to expand mutual cultural cooperation with the neighboring country.

In his recent visit to the Azerbaijan State Academy of Fine Arts, Iran’s cultural attaché in Baku, Seyed Ebrahim Ebrahimi had a meeting with the academy’s senior officials where they talked about further joint programs.

It was decided that an exhibition of artworks by Azeri artists be held in Iran “to further promote cultural ties between the two neighbors,” Mehr News Agency reported.

He also said that the Iranian mission has held talks with academy officials to organize periodic symposia between the two sides in the areas of painting, sculpture, painting workshops, and carpet weaving as well as holding Iran Day at the academy.
