Polish Deputy Culture Minister Monica Smullen and Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Marzieh Afkham underlined further improvement in cultural ties at a meeting on Saturday.
During the meeting, positive aspects of the two nations, especially Iranian hospitality towards the Poles during World War II, were reviewed, IRNA reported.
Referring to issues of mutual interest for promoting cultural cooperation in the fields of cinema, TV and theater, the Polish official described his country’s interest in Iranian culture and Persian language “as a suitable ground for enhancing cultural collaboration.”
Enumerating other areas of cultural cooperation including mass media and helping disseminate precise and correct information to both nations, Afkham welcomed expansion of cooperation in all arenas.
Both officials reiterated excellent political relations between Tehran and Warsaw and the need to strengthen commonalities.
The Polish minister is in Iran to attend Sunday’s seminar commemorating the 540th anniversary of bilateral ties.
