Beyond Conventions

Niavaran Cultural Center is to show the latest series of works by veteran painter Ali Faramarzi.

Slated for December 29-January 7, Faramarzi’s exhibit will be held at Gallery No. 1 of the center, Honaronline reported.

In the paintings, Faramarzi has broken away from the conventional conception of dimension and rendered 2-dimensional surfaces in 3-D environments. Some of his works will be hanging from the ceiling.

At the opening ceremony of the exhibit, a book containing his articles on art will be unveiled. Faramarzi, 67, has so far held 26 solo exhibitions in Iran and other countries including Qatar, Singapore, Pakistan, Italy, South Korea and China. He has participated in over 50 group exhibitions in and outside Iran.

Niavaran Cultural Center is located at the northern end of Pasdaran Street, across Niavaran Park.
