Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art will hold two parallel festivals on performance art.
TMoCA will be hosting the 7th International Festival of ‘30 Performances, 30 Artists, 30 Days’ and the first International Festival of Radical Performance from Thursday, ILNA reported.
Both events are organized by New Media Circle, an art institute affiliated to TMoCA. The festivals are founded and curated by Amir Rad, media artist, painter and art researcher who also is director of New Media Circle.
The ‘30 Performance, 30 Artists, 30 Days’ event explores new art mediums and features video art, performance art, web art, digital art, installation, sand art, cyber art and other progressive forms of artistic expression.
Radical Performance, being the first of its kind, received entries since last March. The festival is based on interdisciplinary studies and includes diverse sections. It is an opportunity for convergence of various approaches and focuses on performance. It helps expand interdisciplinary studies between alternative performance, performance art, video performance and online performance.
Germany, Spain, Australia, Turkey, the US and Mexico are among the countries participating at the 7th edition of ‘30 Performances, 30 Artists, 30 Days.’
Both festivals will run through March 1. TMoCA is located on N. Kargar Street, between Fatemi Street and Keshavarz Blvd.
