Cheshmeh Publication has released the book ‘Retreat of a Pawn’ written by Gholamreza Masoumi.
According to the website of the firm, the 92-page novel depicts the confrontation of an almost permanently tiresome and weird police officer with a world he sees overwhelmed with crime.
The story begins with narrating the day he disguises himself as a plumber to get close to the inmates of a prison, most of whom had been arrested by him. There, he is bombarded with flashbacks from a remote and mysterious city he used to work in and reminiscent of the many downtrodden residents of the city.
