Actress, filmmaker, producer and photographer Niki Karimi opened her third photography exhibition Friday at E’temad Gallery in Tehran.
To shoot her current photos, displayed under the name ‘Doomed Bloom’, Karimi took her camera to a studio where she set the scene for her photos, Honaronline reported.
The photos were taken during the past two years. Wars and conflicts in the Middle East and issues Iran’s neighbors are grappling with had a deep influence on Karimi. The artist held her first photo exhibit in 2009 at Golestan Gallery in Tehran that included nature photos Karimi had taken during a long trip across Iran. The photos were wide landscapes without any human elements.
Her second exhibition contained similar photos but this time were on display at Courtyard Gallery in Dubai in 2010.
Karimi, 46, has performed in over 25 films and bagged numerous domestic and international awards. She has also directed and produced films.
Situated at Negarestan Garden, Daneshsara St., Baharestan Square, E’temad Gallery will be hosting Karimi’s photo through April 4.
