An Iranian animated series ‘Roobi and Chickens’ has made it to the 58th Annecy International Animated Film Festival in France.
Co-directed by Babak and Behnoud Nekooei, the animation is to represent Iran in the TV Films Competition section, slated for June 11-16, IRNA reported.
The story is about an alien that comes into a forest in a spaceship in search of food and ends up in the house of a fox named Roobi who realizes that the alien can help him solve his problem involving a rooster living nearby.
The 26-episode series is produced by the Tehran-based Gonbad Caboud Studio. Its animation was earlier featured at the 10th Tehran International Animation Festival in February and the 4th edition of Jam-e-Jam TV Festival in early March.
The Annecy International Animation Film Festival was created in 1960 and is held in the beginning of June in the town of Annecy in France.
Initially occurring every two years, the festival became an annual event in 1998. It is one of the four international animated film festivals sponsored by the International Animated Film Association.
