Parts of the life of the first king of Persia Cyrus the Great is being featured in a theatrical work on stage at Vahdat Hall.
Cyrus the Great (580-529 BC) was the founder of the Achaemenid Empire, the first Persian empire in western and central Asia.
He was the first king to declare the charter of human rights in the world, also known as ‘the Cyrus Cylinder’. He is best remembered for his deep reservoir of tolerance and nobleness towards the countries he conquered.
According to the Persian news website Entekhab, the performance titled ‘Cyrus’ is directed by Pari Saberi, who has also written the play, and has Arash Asefi, Mohsen Hosseini, Atefeh Razavi, Behnaz Nazi, Elham Dehqani, Kambiz Amini and Shahram Nejati in the cast.
The play will be on the stage of the venue, located at Ostad Shahriar Street, Hafez Avenue, till May 5.
