Poet and philosopher Zia Movahed is going to release a collection of his poems in a book in Persian and English.
“I have a new collection that includes my latest poems. Some of them have already been published in a few journals…The book will be in 70 pages containing at least 40 pieces which may increase by the time the book goes for printing.”
Movahed has selected his works that can be translated with minimal loss of subtlety and meaning. In an interview with ISNA, he referred to his previous bilingual book ‘Songs of the Blue’ as a successful experience enabling him to communicate with English readers.
Songs of the Blue was Movahed’s selected poems translated into English by Saeed Saeedpour that was released last year.
“Like my previous works, the upcoming poems have social and romantic themes. It is a cohesive collection and not a random selection … My best time is when I’m writing a book. I think the new collection will be finalized by the end of fall,” Movahed said.
