Governor’s office of Gilan Province plans to establish a network of roadside facilities, for which it has invited architectural and logo designs.
Titled “Gil Park”, the project will have roadside facilities on the roads across the northern province, Memar News, a Persian website on architecture, reported.
The contractor of Gil Park is Gilan Organization for Building Engineering. The project is aimed at protecting environment and natural resources, increase road safety, provide sanitary amenities and create jobs for local residents.
The tentative plan is to include two toilets for men and two for women (including one for the physically challenged), a handicrafts minimarket, a café or teahouse, a flower booth, ATM, Internet service, mobile relay station, billboard, a kiosk for information and tourist services and a gas pump.
The competition set up for the project includes the two sections of architecture and logo. Designs are to be posted to the secretariat of the contest until the deadline of May 26. The secretariat is located on the premises of Gilan Organization for Building Engineering on Ansari Boulevard of Rasht, capital city of Gilan.
In the architecture section, designers should provide four versions for mountains, hillsides, plains and seaside.
Designs should be compatible with the local climate. Building materials should be recyclable and locally available. Ideas based on renewable energies are preferable.
Participants are recommended to use modules in their designs and make them adjustable to different land layouts.
About the mountain version of Gil Park, it should be noted that the unit may be used as a shelter in emergencies and extreme weather.
Text, image or both can be used in the logo. It must be printable both as monochrome and in color, while it should also be reproducible in 3D format. In small or large dimensions, it must retain readability.
The first prize of architecture contest is 40 million rials ($952). The second and third prizes will be cash prizes worth 20 million rials ($476) and 10 million rials ($238) respectively.
For the first design of the logo, $238 have been considered. The second and third prize winners in this category will each get 5 million rials ($119).
Results will be announced on May 31 at the website of Gilan Organization for Building Engineering.
