Tile Design Contest

Goldis Tile Co. has organized a tile design competition and has invited artists to submit nature-inspired designs.

Based in Tehran with a factory in Ashkezar County in Yazd Province, the company is holding the design contest for its new range of  productions, Honaronline reported on its Persian website.

The contest is titled “Inspired by Nature.” It is open to all who can design an industrial product, namely industrial designers and graphic artists.   

Deadline for submission of designs is June 29. Submittals are to be sent to the secretariat of the contest in Tehran. Submitted works will be evaluated by July 1 and winners will be announced on July 6.

Executive members of the competition include founder of Goldis Tile Mohammad-Reza Golkari-Haq; deputy CEO of the company Farshad Golkari-Haq; head of the company’s design department Miguel Baptista de Cruz; as well as some members from the company’s board of directors.

The awards considered for the first design are 50 million rials ($1,184), golden statuette of the contest, a certificate of participation, visit to one of the major expos in tile and ceramic design and a contract for work with Goldis.

Second winner of the contest will receive 30 million rials ($710), a silver statuette, a certificate and a contract for future collaboration. 

Twenty million rials ($474), a bronze statuette, and an agreement for using the submitted design will be given to the third winner.
