Ahvaz air quality is unhealthy at present and the increasing pollutants are suffocating the air, said Masoud Zandi, head of the national climate center at the Department of Environment (DoE).
The current source of the air pollution in Ahvaz is contaminants of domestic origin. “The pollutants are different from last year, which originated in swarms of particles from Iraq; now however, the source is domestic,” he said, blaming very low precipitation for the high pollution level, Mehr News Agency reported.
