Symphony orchestra Bel Canto conducted by Nima Panahiha is going to perform on April 26 in Tabriz, capital of East Azarbaijan Province.
Bel Canto means beautiful song in Italian. “Like in our earlier concerts, the upcoming performance will feature compositions by renowned Italian opera composer Francesco Verdi (1813-1901). Joy of Bel Canto is the title of our program,” Panahiha said.
Tabriz Petro-Chemistry Auditorium located at the intersection of Shahryar and Golkar boulevards will host the event, according to the Persian website of Mehr News Agency.
The orchestra has 48 instrumentalists and singers including four vocal ranges of soprano, alto, tenor and bass.
“Our members comprise a considerable part of major ensembles such as Tehran Symphony Orchestra,” Panahiha said.
The last concert by Bel Canto was at Tehran’s Vahdat Hall on March 1. The ensemble is planning to perform in other provincial cities after Tabriz.
In Tabriz violin and viola player Danial Jourabchi will be the concert master and Sara Soufi-Siavash is solo pianist.
